KANCHANPUR, Aug 4: The movement of four-wheeled vehicles across the Sharada Barrage in Kanchanpur has been halted due to the rising water levels in the Mahakali River.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Sagar Bohora, the information officer at the District Police Office in Kanchanpur, the restriction was imposed after continuous rainfall led to a surge in the river’s water level.
"Once the flow of the Mahakali River reaches 100,000 cusecs, vehicular movement is stopped," said Bohora, "Today at 8 a.m., the river's flow surpassed 109,980 cusecs, prompting the authorities to halt the movement of four-wheeled vehicles.”
