KATHMANDU, Sep 21: The Nepali cricket team, which is scheduled to play a three-match T20 series against the West Indies, has finally received visas from the United Arab Emirates.
Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) issued a statement confirming that the visas had been granted. The team will depart on Monday.
According to the original schedule, the Nepali team was supposed to fly to the UAE on Friday morning to play the three-match T20 series against the West Indies. However, the plan was deferred as the UAE did not issue visas until Sunday without any clear explanations.
UAE has not issued tourists or working visas to Nepali nationals since the September 8-9 protest of Gen-Z in Kathmandu and other parts of the country.
After playing the three T20 matches against the West Indies in Sharjah on September 27, 29 and 30, the Nepali team will travel to Oman to participate in the T20 World Cup.
