Samsung awards certificates to 56 students of Innovation Campus

KATHMANDU, Aug 21: Samsung Nepal awarded certificates to 56 students of Tribhuvan University Institute of Engineering (Pulchowk Campus), who completed the third batch of its Coding and Programming course under the company’s flagship CSR initiative, Samsung Innovation Campus, the company said in a press release.

According to the press release, the event was attended by Tribhuvan University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Deepak Aryal, Pulchowk Campus Chief Dr Sanjaya Uprety, and Institute of Engineering Dean Dr Sushil B. Bajracharya. Samsung Nepal officials said the initiative is equipping Nepali youth with future-ready skills in technology and innovation.

With this milestone, a new batch of students will begin training in Artificial Intelligence and Big Data. The program, launched at Tribhuvan University in 2022, also covers Internet of Things (IoT) along with coding, contributing to the development of a skilled workforce for Nepal’s growing digital economy, the company said.

In addition to technical training, Samsung Innovation Campus provides soft skills development to improve employability, problem-solving, and creativity. Students are selected based on their knowledge of algorithms, data structures, and programming, and work on projects addressing real-world social challenges using AI, Big Data, IoT, and coding.

Tribhuvan University’s Institute of Engineering expressed commitment to expanding such collaborations to enhance access to advanced technology learning in Nepal, the press release further stated.
