KATHMANDU, Sept 22: Nepal has secured a place in the semifinals of the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) U-17 Men’s Championship.
On Sunday, Bangladesh defeated host Sri Lanka 4-0 in a Group A match at the Racecourse International Stadium in Colombo, ensuring Nepal’s progression to the semifinals.
Nepal finished second in Group A to reach the semifinal stage. The team began the
tournament with a 2-0 victory over Sri Lanka but lost 4-0 to Bangladesh in their second match.
In the semifinals, Nepal will face either India or Pakistan from Group B, with the two teams scheduled to play on Monday.
A total of seven teams are participating in the ongoing tournament.
