KATHMANDU, July 5: The Nagarik Unmukti Party (NUP) has decided to withdraw from the federal government.
According to NUP Chairperson Ranjita Shrestha, the decision to leave the government and move to the opposition was made during a meeting of the party’s parliamentary party held on Saturday. She stated that the party would inform the Speaker and the Prime Minister of its decision and begin sitting in the opposition from the parliamentary session on July 8.
She also mentioned that Arun Chaudhary, who is serving as the Minister of State for Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation from the NUP in the federal government, would submit his resignation to the Prime Minister.
The NUP had already withdrawn from the provincial governments earlier.
