Forex Update: US dollar shows a slight appreciation as NRB sets a new exchange rates for today

KATHMANDU, July 12: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has fixed the foreign currency exchange rates for today, with the US dollar rate showing a slight increase. 

The buying rate of the US dollar is Rs 136.99 and the selling rate is Rs 137.59 today, whereas the buying rate for one US dollar was set at Rs 136.72 and the selling rate was set at Rs 137.32 on Friday.

The Euro is priced at Rs 160.12 for buying and Rs 160.82 for selling. The British Pound Sterling’s buying rate is Rs 185.20, with a selling rate of Rs 186.01. The Swiss Franc is set at Rs 171.97 (buying) and Rs 172.72 (selling).

For other major currencies, the Australian Dollar’s rates are Rs 90.21 (buying) and Rs 90.60 (selling), while the Canadian Dollar stands at Rs 100.06 and Rs 100.50, respectively. The Singapore Dollar is Rs 107.04 for buying and Rs 107.50 for selling.

The Japanese Yen (per 10 units) has a buying rate of Rs 9.32 and a selling rate of Rs 9.36. The Chinese Yuan is priced at Rs 19.11 (buying) and Rs 19.20 (selling). Saudi Arabian Riyal’s rates are Rs 36.53 and Rs 36.69, and Qatari Riyal is Rs 37.59 for buying and Rs 37.75 for selling.

Among other currencies, the Thai Baht’s buying and selling rates are Rs 4.22 and Rs 4.24, respectively. The UAE Dirham is set at Rs 37.30 (buying) and Rs 37.46 (selling). The Malaysian Ringgit is Rs 32.21 for buying and Rs 32.36 for selling. The South Korean Won (per 100 units) stands at Rs 9.96 (buying) and Rs 10.01 (selling).

The Swedish Krona has rates of Rs 14.36 (buying) and Rs 14.42 (selling), and the Danish Krona is priced at Rs 21.46 and Rs 21.55, respectively. The Hong Kong Dollar’s buying rate is Rs 17.45 and selling rate is Rs 17.53. Kuwaiti Dinar is Rs 448.24 for buying and Rs 450.20 for selling. Bahraini Dinar’s rates are Rs 363.38 and Rs 364.97, and the Omani Riyal stands at Rs 355.84 (buying) and Rs 357.40 (selling).

The Indian Rupee (per 100 units) has a buying rate of Rs 160.00 and a selling rate of Rs 160.15.

The NRB has stated that these exchange rates may be revised at any time as necessary. Commercial banks may have different rates, and the updated rates are available on the central bank’s official website.
