KATHMANDU, Aug 1: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has determined the exchange rates for 22 foreign currencies for today (Friday). According to the central bank, the US dollar has continued its upward trend for the fourth consecutive day, with the buying rate set at Rs 139.86 and the selling rate at Rs 140.46. On Thursday, the buying and selling rates were Rs 139.58 and Rs 140.18, respectively.
Similarly, the buying and selling rates for one euro are Rs 159.99 and Rs 160.68, respectively. For one British pound sterling, the rates are Rs 184.99 (buying) and Rs 185.78 (selling). The Swiss Franc is being traded at Rs 172.06 (buying) and Rs 172.80 (selling).
The Australian dollar has a buying rate of Rs 90.10 and a selling rate of Rs 90.49. The Canadian dollar stands at Rs 101.04 (buying) and Rs 101.47 (selling), while the Singapore dollar is valued at Rs 107.80 (buying) and Rs 108.26 (selling).
For 10 Japanese yen, the buying rate is Rs 9.32 and the selling rate is Rs 9.36. The Chinese yuan is being exchanged at Rs 19.44 (buying) and Rs 19.52 (selling). The Saudi Arabian riyal is traded at Rs 37.28 and Rs 37.44, while the Qatari riyal is valued at Rs 38.37 and Rs 38.53.
According to NRB, the Thai baht is set at Rs 4.28 (buying) and Rs 4.30 (selling). The UAE dirham is priced at Rs 38.08 and Rs 38.24. The Malaysian ringgit stands at Rs 32.79 and Rs 32.93, while 100 South Korean won is valued at Rs 10.03 (buying) and Rs 10.07 (selling). The Swedish kroner is being exchanged at Rs 14.34 and Rs 14.40, while the Danish kroner stands at Rs 21.44 and Rs 21.53.
NRB has also set the buying and selling rates for one Hong Kong dollar at Rs 17.82 and Rs 17.89, one Kuwaiti dinar at Rs 457.18 and Rs 459.14, one Bahraini dinar at Rs 370.98 and Rs 372.57, and one Omani riyal at Rs 363.26 and Rs 364.82.
The buying rate for INR 100 is fixed at Rs 160, and the selling rate at Rs 160.15.
The central bank noted that these rates are subject to change at any time. It also clarified that exchange rates set by commercial banks may vary, and the latest official rates are available on the NRB’s website.
