Daily turnover plummets to Rs 5.10 billion while NEPSE gains 12.03 points

KATHMANDU, Sept 1: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Monday inclined 12.03 points to close at 2,761.86 points.

The market faced a fluctuation of 32 points in the intraday trading. It reached the day’s high at 2,773.7 points in the pre-opening session. However, the index nosedived to reach the day’s low at 2,741.79 points in 41 minutes after the market opened for the main trading session. After undergoing a series of fluctuations, the market escalated mainly in the final one hour of the trading time.

Trading and ‘others’ were the losers and witnessed a fall of 35.45 points and 0.97 points, respectively. Of the 11 gainers, non-life insurance had the highest increase of 37.19 points.

The sensitive index which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies increased 3.74 points. The daily turnover declined to Rs 5.10 billion from Rs 6.06 billion on Sunday. 

Among the individual companies, 143 were gainers while 106 were recorded as losers. Nepal Reinsurance Company Limited had the largest turnover of its shares worth Rs 280.82 million.

Him Star Urja Company Limited by adding 6.07 percent in its market value was recorded as the highest gainer. Unnati Sahakarya Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited lost the largest of 7.68 percent.
