KATHMANDU, June 8: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Sunday plummeted by 11.06 points to close at 2,629.89 points.
The secondary market opened at 2,640.96 points and reached the day’s high at 2,645.23 points in the first 15 minutes. In the next one hour, the market witnessed nominal fluctuations, while the index gradually declined and hit the day’s low at 2,627.3 points in the last 19 minutes before the market closed for the day.
Only two out of the 13 groups were gainers, with the hydropower group adding the highest of 42.42 points, followed by hotels and tourism with 8.41 points. Of the losers, non-life insurance lost the largest of 116.33 points.
The sensitive index, which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies, shedded 2.05 points. The daily turnover amount inclined to Rs 9.13 billion from Rs 7.97 billion on Thursday of the last week.
Among the individual companies, 86 were gainers while 162 were the losers. Radhi Bidyut Company had the biggest turnover of its shares worth Rs 729.51 million.
Om Megashree Pharmaceuticals Limited was recorded as the topmost loser. River Falls Power Limited gained the highest of 9.99 percent of its market value.
