Daily turnover declines to Rs 13.07 billion as NEPSE nosedives 63.73 points

KATHMANDU, Aug 3: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Sunday plummeted 63.73 points to close at 2,858.90 points.

The secondary market opened at 2,922.63 points and followed the downward spiral throughout the trading period. Overall the index declined 2.18 percent in the intraday trading.

All the 13 trading groups were the losers, while life insurance shedded the largest of 297.94 points. A total of five groups lost three-digit points.

The sensitive index which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies also fell by a notable 10.37 points. The daily turnover also declined significantly to Rs 13.07 billion from Rs 15.98 billion on Thursday, the last trading day of the last week. 

Among the individual companies, 16 were gainers while 233 were recorded as losers. Nepal Reinsurance Company Limited had the largest turnover of its shares worth Rs 753.96 million.

Sanvi Energy Limited lost the highest of 9.99 percent of its market price. Likewise, Trade Tower Limited by adding 9.99 percent was registered as the topmost gainer.
