BUTWAL, Aug 27: The Butwal bench of the Tulsipur High Court has directed the submission of a clarification report along with the original case files related to the cooperative fraud case involving Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chairman Rabi Lamichhane.
The order was issued on Wednesday by a single bench of Judge Sagar Bista during the hearing of Lamichhane’s petition, in which he sought release upon repayment of the disputed amount in the Supreme Cooperative fraud case.
Lamichhane had submitted a bank guarantee worth Rs 27.48 million. However, the Rupandehi District Court had earlier denied his release, citing that his exact liability had not yet been determined.
Currently detained at Nakkhu Prison, Lamichhane’s case will move forward after the High Court receives the requested documents within a week.
