KATHMANDU, July 9: The Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI) has elected Birendra Raj Pandey as its new president.
The 22nd Annual General Meeting of the CNI elected Pandey as the president of the umbrella organization of the private sectors. Pandey, who was previously the Senior Vice-President, has been ascended in the CNI’s topmost position in accordance with the statute of the confederation.
Pandey has worked as a member of the CNI’s National Council and on various committees for a decade. In 2018, he was elected as the vice-president of the CNI.
Born in Kathmandu, Pandey has been in the construction industry for the past three decades. Pandey holds his expertise in civil engineering, housing and urban development, roads and bridges construction, water resource management, and structural reinforcement. The executive director of Nepal Adarsha Nirman Company, Pandey is also involved actively in the green material construction, agriculture, and education sectors.
