Bagmati CM Baniya takes oath, inducts eight ministers in his cabinet

KATHMANDU, Aug 5: The newly appointed Chief Minister of Bagmati Province Indra Bahadur Baniya took the oath of office and secrecy on Tuesday.
Provincial Head Deepak Prasad Sapkota administered the oath at a formal ceremony. Shortly after assuming office, Chief Minister Baniya expanded his Cabinet.
Acting on Baniya’s recommendation and in line with Article 168 (9) of the Constitution of Nepal, Provincial Head Sapkota appointed an eight-member Council of Ministers. 
Chief Minister Baniya has retained direct oversight of several key ministries including the Office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers as well as the ministries of Finance, Internal Affairs, Social Development, Culture and Tourism, Youth and Sports and Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation.

The distribution of ministerial portfolios is as follows:
