SURKHET, May 28: Continuous rainfall triggered a landslide that blocked the Rapti Highway. Salyan police reported that the landslide struck at 4:40 AM on Wednesday in Chorakhola, Kapurkot Rural Municipality-3, closing the road.
This highway connects key areas, such as Salyan and Surkhet. The landslide dumped soil and rocks onto the road, halting all vehicle movement. Authorities expect it will take some time to clear the debris and reopen the road.
