KATHMANDU, May 11: Shiv Sena Nepal President Anil Baba Basnet has been arrested in connection with the Tinkune incident.
According to Superintendent of Police (SP) Apilraj Bohora, spokesperson of the Kathmandu District Police Range, Basnet was arrested from Sukedhara while attending a meeting of the Joint People's Movement Committee, a coalition of pro-monarchist groups.
He was taken into custody amid the ongoing police action following the violent pro-monarchist protest on March 28 during which around 100 individuals were detained for interrogation. The individuals are kept in custody, and are now facing legal proceedings.
