KATHMANDU, Aug 17: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Sunday plummeted 27.14 points to close at 2,761.22 points.
The secondary market opened at 2,788.36 points and went down and hit the day’s high at 2,803.12 points in the first 27 minutes. The market went to a steep fall for the next two hours before showing a slight recovery of around nine points. In the remaining around 50 minutes, the index again dropped by 17 points before it closed for the day.
All the 13 groups were the losers. The life insurance index slid 93.69 points, the largest of all.
The sensitive index which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies declined 5.15 points. The daily turnover witnessed slight incline of Rs 270 million and stood at Rs 7.73 billion in the intraday trading.
Among the individual companies, 58 were gainers while 191 were recorded as losers. Nepal Reinsurance Company Limited had the largest turnover of its shares worth Rs 516.70 million.
Sampada Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited saw a decline of 7.06 percent and was the topmost loser. RBB Mutual Fund 1 soared by the highest of 7.93 percent.
