BAGLUNG, May 24: Continuous rain triggered a landslide, blocking the nationally significant Kaligandaki Corridor. The landslide occurred at Dabliang, Ward No. 10 of Baglung Municipality, due to heavy rain since Friday evening, causing the corridor to be blocked.
According to Keshav Thapa, Inspector at the District Police Office Baglung, the movement of both long- and short-distance vehicles has come to a halt due to the blockage. Police are trying to clear the road using machinery, he said.
The road blockage has disrupted direct transportation between the district headquarters and southern Baglung. Vehicles traveling from various parts of Baglung Municipality, including Chisti, Jaidi, Arjewa, and Binamare in Jaimini, to Baglung Bazaar have stopped.
The corridor blockage has also halted vehicles traveling to places like Butwal and Bhairahawa, and tourists heading to Muktinath have been forced to halt.
