KIMATHANKA (SANKHUWASABHA), June 7: Flooding in the northern region of Kimathanka in Sankhuwasabha district has buried a border pillar marking the Nepal-China boundary.

According to Acting Chief of the District Police Office, Abhishek Shrestha, continuous rainfall triggered flooding that buried border pillar number 71, located near the Kimathanka checkpoint in Bhotkhola-1. The pillar, situated on the Nepal side of the border, was swept away by the flood.

The Dongoppa and Chhokang rivers in Bhotkhola-1 overflowed on June 1, causing the damage. "The flood completely buried and swept away border pillar number 71," said Shrestha.

Upon receiving information about the incident, the District Police Office dispatched a team from the Kimathanka Area Police Post for inspection. Authorities report that the upper region has experienced continuous rainfall over the past few days.
