KATHMANDU, July 8: Minister for Health and Population Pradip Paudel has decided to provide free treatment to those injured during people's movements, including the armed revolution, the people's movement, and the Madhesh movement.

The minister took the initiative to cover the treatment costs of those injured in various movements by assigning public hospitals.

Although the injured ones were receiving treatment from the state fund, full treatment was not provided to them due to a budget crunch.

After the minister endorsed a work procedure to reimburse the hospitals for the treatment cost of the injured ones, it is expected to be a sustainable measure. Even those who received injuries in the earthquake would be provided this service.

All government and community hospitals are required to provide treatment according to established procedures. This document streamlines the reimbursement process for health facilities.

The ministry allocated a budget for this cause in the next fiscal year, beginning soon.

Ministry spokesperson Dr Prakash Budhathoki informed that with the endorsement of the work procedure, the problems facing the people injured in various moments and disasters would be resolved.
