KATHMANDU, May 25: The government on Sunday filed a case at the Kathmandu District Court against medical practioner Durga Prasai and 20 others, seeking life imprisonment for their alleged involvement in violent protests during a movement to reinstate the monarchy.
Citing police investigations, the District Government Attorney's Office (DGAO) charged them with participating in the March 28 incident in Tinkune. The case accuses 50 individuals of committing crimes against the state, 11 of engaging in criminal conspiracy, and 8 of attempted murder.
Assistant District Attorney Ram Hari Kafle confirmed that prosecutors have charged a total of 61 individuals at the Kathmandu District Court. The DGAO also recommended legal action against Dhawal Shamsher Rana and Rabindra Mishra.
